Chester "Chet" Helstowski

Chester “Chet” Helstowski was born on December 10, 1926 in Wyandotte, Michigan and died on June 10, 2022 at the age of 95; he was of Trenton. Beloved husband of the late Loretta for 69 wonderful years. Loving dad of James of Southfield, Michigan, David (Debra) of Jacksonville, Florida, Gerald (Linda) of Riverview, Michigan and Daniel of Trenton, Michigan. Proud grandpa of David, Jeff, Thomas, Jay, Rachel, Jacqueline, Rochelle and Megan and great grandpa of seven. Also survived by other loving family and friends. Chet was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Anna and his siblings, Hank, Rose, Mamie and Genevieve. He proudly served his county in The United States Army during World War II. He worked at The United States Post Office in Wyandotte for 42 years. Visitation is on Friday June 17, 2022 from 2-8 pm with a Vigil Service on Friday at 2 pm all at The Trenton Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 3200 West Rd., Trenton. Chet will lie in state at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Saturday June 18, 2022 from 10am until the time of the funeral liturgy which will begin at 11am. Interment at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery. Memorial contributions to honor his life may be made as the donor chooses.
