Click on the tribute wall above to view Charlotte's video tribute. Charlotte Elizabeth Estheimer Charlotte Windle Estheimer passed away peacefully on May 29, 2021. She was surrounded, loved, and cherished till the end by her dear children which was a great comfort to all. Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Sister, she touched so many lives with her authentic, no nonsense but playful spirit and guidance for the entire family. A strong faithful Matriarch whose life of kindness and charitable giving stretched from her family to every four footed animal in her path. Her zest for caring for any animal knew no bounds. Born in Columbus, Ohio on May 10, 1943, Charlotte, 78, is preceded in death by her husband Don, brother Paul, and her parents Hugh and Helen Windle. She will be forever cherished by her children, Bill (Kristen) Estheimer, of Sebastopol, CA, Donnie (Sherry) Estheimer, Beth (Dave) Glenn, Tim (Nicole) Estheimer and the luckiest grandchildren Kyle, Katie, Timmy, Annie, Nick, Alex, David, Jeffrey, Jake and Jillian. More love and abundance of laughter were given to her six great grandchildren. She will also be missed by Donna (Dave) Fast, Arlene Windle, Sandy Estheimer of Columbus Ohio and her many treasured nieces and nephews. Charlotte's younger years included supporting her Parents, who despite their lifelong blindness, were able to live a normal life, including owning their own Newsstand. She modeled as a young woman before taking up her greatest role as a Mother. As evidenced by her successful children and neighborhood children’s lives, The “Koolaid Mom”, was the cornerstone of the neighborhood and she watched over her flock with a passion. One of her greatest gifts was to offer unconditional love, counsel and shelter for this group which ultimately became the “E-Crew”. Her love of Gardening and living life with elegance and style is one to repeat and continues to this day. Charlotte’s adventurous nature and love of travel brought her on road trips all over the country. Raising their family in Columbus, Charlotte and Don and family moved to Lincoln Park, Michigan and then Allen Park. Her groundbreaking career in the non traditional areas at General Motors never surprised anyone. In retirement she was the forefront of the community spirit when her children purchased Primo's Pizza in Allen Park. Her pride in the restaurant, recipes and Charlotte's down home ways and interest in their customers and being a second Mom to the employees, led the way to success in the family business. Charlotte was happiest when she was able to listen to you, love you and support you just the way you are. Special love to daughter Beth, whose selfless and loving care, was able to give Charlotte the best life even during her recent and past medical challenges. She always had an open house for her family and friends through the years. Her strong faith will show evidence of that with signs of her eternal love for all. Please join the family to celebrate Charlotte’s life and be reminded we were blessed to know and love her and have her in our lives. In lieu of flowers, the following are charitable organizations near and dear to her heart, she was an animal lover and both her parents were blind: The Michigan Humane Society or the American Foundation for the Blind. To those attending visitation and/or services at the funeral home for a loved one, we adhere to CDC and State of Michigan DHHS guidelines. There are limitations on number of person(s) in the chapel that will be enforced. Thank you for understanding.
