Charles William Gardner was born on May 2, 1943 and was called home on February 26, 2024 at the age of 80; he was of Southgate and formerly of Dearborn. Husband of Joann. Loving father of Laura Hitchcock, Cheryl Walters and Judd (Lisa) Gardner. Loving grandfather of Randy (Danielle) , Amber, Brittany (Sean), the late Christopher, the late Alex, Lauren, Daniel, Courtney, Kayla, Tommy and Alyssa. Great grandfather of 12. Also survived by many other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Fern and his brother Neil. Charles was a graduate of Fordson High School who was a tool and die maker at General Motors; he retired from Bing Steel. Charles loved the Detroit Lions and watching wrestling. He was a very inspirational man who would give to anyone in need.  Visitation is on Thursday, February 29, 2024 from 2 pm - 9 pm at The Allen Park Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 10915 Allen Rd. (Corner of Goddard).The funeral service will be that same day, beginning at 6:00 PM. Memorial contributions to honor Charles' life may be made to the family and will be forwarded to a charity to be determined.
