Cecilio Aponte

Cecilio Aponte, age 86 of Southwest Detroit, passed away February 7, 2023.

Cecilio was born November 21, 1936 in Puerto Rico to the late Juan and Francisca Aponte. Cecilio proudly served his country in the United States Navy and was a driver for Chass Clinic for 20 years.

Proud father of Wilfredo “Freddy” (Deborah), Soriada, Janet, Charley (Rachal), Eduardo “Chino” (Dana), Linda, and Maria “Tessy” Segundo. Proud grandfather of Estrella, Salina, Joey, Christina, Michael, Angelique, Deanna, Thomas, Jesus, David, Aldo, Alexsis, Leticia, Nikolaus, Victor, Abel, Isabelle, and 23 great grandchildren. Loving brother of 6 siblings.

Cecilio was a gift to those around him. His kindness is a balm to all who encounter it. He was a ray of sunshine and would always take the time to talk to anyone he encountered. He was a ladies man. He loved his special two assistant nurses Nikki and Eleanor. He also was so fond of Derrick, an RN that really went above and beyond for him, and all of the doctors who took such good care of him at the Veterans Affairs.
