Gorno, Sr. . Loving mother of Richard (Angela) of San Clemente, CA; Mary Louise of Chicago, IL; Teresa Anne Gorno-Reid (William Reid) of Naperville, IL; and the late Joseph Anthony, Jr. (Billie) Gorno. Survived by cherished twin sister Juliette Becigneul, dear youngest sister Gloria (Alvin) Drouillard and beloved daughter-in-law Beverly M. Gorno. Predeceased by siblings Irene (Harry) Spearing, Norma (Jerry) Hoy, Marceline (Robert) Webster, and Armand (Madeleine) Renaud. Adored grandmother of Renee (John) Gilhooly, Lorri (Randy Dean), Lisa (Kevin Williams), and Brittany Gorno; Evangeline Anne, Alice Cecilia, and Grace Reid. She was blessed with 11 great grandchildren and a large number of dear nieces and nephews. Her children and family were her greatest joy and she forever remained a patient teacher at heart. Cecile was born in the French speaking farming community of LaSalle, Ontario, Canada on November 22, 1916, a twin and the fourth of 7 children born to Evangeline Anne (nee Beneteau) and Archille Renaud. She later became a naturalized American citizen. After attending the University of Ottawa she began her teaching career in a one room school house, eventually returning to school to receive a second bachelor's degree at the age of 57. Cecile was deeply compassionate, a devout Catholic with a special devotion to St. Anne and always supportive of religious vocations. She was a longtime parishioner and school parent at Saint Patrick Catholic Church and School. As a member of the American Association of University Women she chaired fundraising events and participated in the annual book sale for literacy. Cecile was also one of the first women elected to be a Director on the Wyandotte Savings Bank Board. In later years, she enjoyed a respite from winter in Siesta Key, FL but always returned to their first and only "honeymoon home" in Wyandotte.
