Cathy E. Navarre

Cathy E. Navarre, age 76 of Monroe, passed away Sunday, November 21, 2021 at Rivergate Health Care Center in Riverview. Born August 17, 1945 in in Monroe, Cathy was the daughter of Lawrence and June (Millard) Moore. A 1963 graduate of St. Mary’s Academy, she married the love of her life, Earl G. Navarre Jr., on April 22, 1966. Sadly he preceded her in death January 6, 2021. A dedicated homemaker, Cathy had also worked as an office manager for various companies, to include St. Joseph Cemetery and the Allore Chapel-Martenson Family of Funeral Homes. Cathy loved crafting of all types, which included making baskets. She most recently, before she became too sick, enjoyed donating her time with a local group, to help make plastic mats for the homeless to sleep on. She enjoyed meeting with her Friendship/Card Club Sisters on a monthly basis. They started the tradition of visiting each other's homes monthly back in 1969 and expanded these visits to included their spouses and families, from time to time, so they are more family than friends. They have lost several over the years but still cherish their memories. Cathy leaves to cherish her memory her children: David (Victoria) Navarre and Amy (Brian) Salliotte; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren: as well as her siblings: Thomas Moore, Edward (Tami) Moore, Terry Moore, Daniel (Amanda) Moore and Mary (Patrick) Wickenheiser; and sister-in-law Loretta Terrasi. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Larry Moore; a great grandson Walter Salliotte; sister-in-law Susie “Helen” Moore; and brothers-in-law Elmer Navarre and James Terrasi. A special thank you for the care she received from her team at Hospice of Wayne County (Jessica & Jackie) & the staff at Rivergate Healthcare Center. Memorial contributions in honor of Cathy may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Hospice of Wayne County.
