Catherine J. Marson

Catherine Josephine Marson, age of 96, longtime resident of Lincoln Park, passed away on September 17, 2022. She is the beloved wife of her late husband, Albert James Marson, of 21 years.

Loving mother of Albert (Donna), Joseph, and Donald Marson. Loving grandmother of late Michael Marson, Jason Marson, Stephanie Seaman, Sean Marson, Kelly Marson, and Lori Filek. Loving great-grandmother of Kayleigh and Grayson Seaman. Loving sister of Esther (Casper) Sorvala, Genevieve (Ernest) Quello, Frederick (Elaine) Cherubini, Pauline (Joseph) Despot, Joseph (Stella) Cherubini, and Theresa (Robert) Walker. She was also loved by many nieces, nephews, and many family members.

Cay was a parishioner of Christ the Good Shepherd Parish in Lincoln Park since the early 1950’s. After her husband’s passing in 1968, she assumed both parenting rolls for her three sons; she always made her sons her first priority. Her favorite pastimes included cooking for family gatherings, going for Sunday rides, crocheting, bowling, camping, and watching westerns on TV. She also participated in the Annual Labor Day Mackinac Bridge Walk numerous times before her ailing knees made it impractical. Most recently, she was proud of the fact that she passed her driver’s license test two years ago at the age of 94.
