Carol K Hauritz Schuster Ferguson of Monroe, MI passed away on July 11, 2018. Carol was born in Canton, OH on July 6, 1938 to Harry and Famy (Harrison) Hauritz. Carol graduated from Sandusky High School in 1956 where she was a majorette with the Sandusky HS band. She received honors as the Erie County Junior Fair Queen and Miss Fire Prevention. She furthered her education at Monroe Community College. Carol married Lee Ferguson on July 16, 1988. Carol worked as a secretary in Sandusky at Farrell-Cheek Steel Foundry Company (Sandusky, Ohio), as an admitting clerk at Monroe Mercy Hospital, and as a secretary at the Fermi Nuclear Power Plant. Carol was also named secretary of the year while working for Manpower and later she was the assistant manager for Carter Children's Wear Carol was a long-time member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Monroe Michigan. Carol was a gifted seamstress who designed and made her own wedding gown and later ran an alterations business from their Sandusky home. Carol enjoyed playing bridge, cribbage, watching TV and being with family and friends. Preceding Carol in death were her parents and her sister Karen. Left behind to cherish her memory are her husband Lee, sister Vicki Smith, children Tom (Pam) Schuster, Vicki (Robert) Braun, Bob (Peggy) Schuster, step-children Chris (Kathie) Ferguson and Lisa (Noel) Ranka. Also the Grandchildren Jessica (Nathan) Halcomb, Kristyn (Will) Greisiger, Benjamin (Rachel) Braun, Thomas (Senie) Schuster, Timothy (Sara) Braun, Maegan (Edward) Zimmanck, Ryan (Jillian) Schuster and Jack, Max and Emma Ranka., Great Grandchildren Zoey, Harper, Carly, Jonah, Olivia, Emery, Paisley, and Lydia A memorial service will be held in August. Memorials can be made to ProMedica Hospice, 1070 N. Monroe St, Monroe, MI 48162.
