Carol Jean Cecil

Cecil, Carol Jean; age 80 of Grosse Ile was born to Walter and Kathryn States on August 25, 1934 in Detroit, MI and went home to be with the Lord April 9, 2015. She selflessly loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and countless others. She taught them to love without condition and laugh without reservation. Carol, known as "Nanny", truly loved with her whole heart. She left this world giving everything she had to those she loved. She is preceded in death by her son Scott Cecil, her brother Dale States, and her parents Walter and Kathryn States. She is survived by her beloved children Beth Cecil, Brad (Suely) Cecil, Brian Cecil and Laura (David) Cecil Dettloff; adored 12 grandchildren, and cherished 10 great grandchildren. Funeral service Tuesday 10 am at The Trenton Chapel of the Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 3200 West Rd., Trenton. Visitation Monday 3 - 8 pm. Interment Roseland Park Cemetery, Berkley.
