Carol Edith Meredith

Meredith, Carol, age 84, passed away in her Taylor home January 5, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Carol was born on August 23, 1937 in Chicago, Ill to Otto and Edith Wetzel. Her family moved to Detroit where she graduated from Denby High School in 1955. While a mother of four, Carol enrolled at Eastern Michigan University where she achieved her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Special Education. She was a teacher, consultant and mentor in the Taylor School District for 22 years and she made many lifelong friendships. Carol and Ed enjoyed a retirement divided between Taylor and Longboat Key, FL. She loved traveling, visiting relatives in Toronto, live performance and adventure. But above all, she loved her family. She was a generous, tenacious and impressive woman and will be missed. Carol is survived by her devoted husband Ed, her children Suzy, David, Melissa and her beloved grandchildren. Preceding Carol in death was her son, Tom. Memorial tributes may be made to Forgotten Harvest.
