Carl "Skip" Hertzsch

Born in Toledo, Carl was the son of Ernest and Cecilia (Manders) Hertzsch. A veteran of the United States Navy, Carl married the love of his life, Virginia Soleau, on June 26, 1948 in Maumee, Ohio. He worked for Trout's Marina, then with his family when they purchased Harbor Marine, and finally for Ohio Building Restoration. Carl was a member of the VFW. Carl leaves to cherish his memory, Virginia, his wife of the past 66 years; a daughter Kathy (Timothy) Berns of Monroe; two grandchildren: Sarah Berns and Amy Schneider; a great grandson Trey Laidler; as well as a sister Charlotte Peters. Sadly he was preceded in death by his parents; a son Tracy Hertzsch; two brothers: Arthur "Art" Hertzsch, Albert "Rex" Hertzsch and a sister Rose Frank. The family is very grateful for the loving care given to Carl, and would like to thank the staffs of Fountaiview and Great Lakes Caring Hospice.
