Carl Tank was called home to his Lord and Savior on May 1, 2020 after a short illness. He was a devoted husband to Sue, his wife of 52 years, and a dedicated son to his late parents, Robert and Jean Tank. He would visit them daily to share a cup of coffee and a laugh. He was also an avid bowler and a lifelong sports fan. He especially loved any Indiana sports team and the Detroit Tigers. He was fortunate to attend the final game of the 1984 World Series to see his beloved Tigers win. A native of Allen Park, Carl graduated from Melvindale High School in 1961. After high school, he went to work with his uncle in Bloomington, Indiana, before joining the US Army. While in the Army, he served in Korea, where he met his wife. After his service, Carl worked for the Ford Motor Company Woodhaven Stamping Plant for 30 years before retiring. Upon retirement, Carl was able to devote more time to traveling the world and doing the charity work he loved. His curiosity about other cultures was the driving force behind his travels, and his Christian faith was the driving force behind his generosity. He would share his love of Christ with those who had an open ear, and he would share his blessings with those who had a need. Funeral services were privately held for family. He is survived by his beloved wife Sue, his twin sister Carol Sullivan, his sisters Christine (Dennis) Todd and Barbara (Steve) Tomosovich, his brother Robert Tank, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, and the many friends he met through church and travel. To honor Carl's legacy, donations can be made in his name to one of his favorite charities, the Capuchin Soup Kitchen in Detroit.
