Theodore Aho Cogswell passed away at the age of 96 on December 27, 2022. He was born in Greenland, MI on February 27, 1926. He spoke Finnish for the first few years of his life and started speaking English when he went to school. During WWII, he wanted to join the Navy but was denied because of his club foot. The Merchant Marines accepted him and that began his nautical career. Sailing the Great Lakes collecting the raw materials to make steel. He married Anne F. Glonchak on December 27, 1952. He retired from the Ford Motor Company in 1986 as a Captain. A great family man Ted was the beloved father of Mary & Richard Levine, Matthew & Lynne Cogswell, Peter & Mary Kate Cogswell, Theodore Cogswell, Carolyn & Enrico Caruso, Daniel Cogswell, and Thomas Cogswell. Proud Grandfather of Alexander, Julia, and Madelyn Levine; Daniel, Marc, Katelyn, Sarah, Joel, James, Rose, and Matthew Cogswell; Samantha and Jessica Caruso; Ian and Josephine Cogswell; and Kyle and Owen Cogswell. A very proud Great Grandfather to Arav and Nikhil Levine; and Eleanor Cogswell. Growing up his children would often hear his favorite sayings: "Safety first", "Patience is a virtue", and of course "Sisu". He was a generous and kind man with a brilliant sense of humor.
