Burton V. Dr. Matthews, M.D.

Age 88. Beloved husband of the late Barbara. Loving uncle of Laura Harrington, Barbara (Don) Hayes and Wendy Fitzpatrick. Burt attended Johns Hopkins University and the University of Maryland Medical School. He was a long-time surgeon who was a former Chief of Staff at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital. Dr. Matthews later specialized in the treatment of breast cancer. He was greatly loved by his patients and family. Burt was an avid golfer, boater, private pilot and world traveler. He will be missed by all who knew his kindness and gentle humor. A memorial service will be held in the spring. Details will be on the Martenson site.
