Bob Shrauger

Robert 'Bob' Shrauger, born on November 23, 1940, on a farm in Merritt, Michigan, and residing in Pentwater and Dearborn, Michigan, passed away peacefully at age 77 on July 30, 2018, at Angela Hospice after a long battle with Lewy body dementia. Bob was the loving husband of Sylvia for 40 years. He cherished all of his family and is survived by his sons, Steve Shrauger and Thomas Lincoln; stepsons, Ken Joy and Scott (Suzanne) Joy; and stepdaughter, Karen Joy. He was the proud grandpa of eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by his dear sister, Mary (Nicholas) Salij. Bob served as an attorney and mediator for over 50 years and had a lifelong commitment to public service and was generous with his time and treasure to many charitable organizations. He was an avid snow and water skier and shared his love of water skiing by teaching many others. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service, officiated by Rev. Fran Hayes, on Saturday, August 11 at 1:00 PM at Littlefield Presbyterian Church, 7560 Littlefield Boulevard, Dearborn, Michigan, 48126. A community remembrance service at Centenary United Methodist Church in Pentwater, Michigan, will also take place in September. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him! An educational scholarship fund for the HFVMemory Care Unit nursing assistants is being established by Henry Ford Village to honor Bob's educational perseverance and to empower and support others to do same. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Henry Ford Village in Bob's memory which will bedesignated to this fund (Henry Ford Village, 15101 Ford Rd, Dearborn, MI, 48126).
