Beverly Marie Rose

Beverly Marie Rose was born on April 11, 1943, and passed away on May 25, 2023, at the age of 80. She grew up on Green Street in Southwest Detroit before moving to Southgate, where she resided for over 50 years. Beverly attended Cass Tech High School, graduating with outstanding grades in 1961. After receiving her high school diploma, she attended the University of Detroit Mercy for a period of time then transferred to Wayne State University. She graduated in 1967 with a bachelor’s degree in education, with a concentration in teaching the grades K-12. Beverly found work as a K-12 substitute teacher. On January 28th, 1967, she married the love of her life, James G. Rose (dec. 2018).

Beverly is survived by her children: James Everett Rose (Tamara Pawlicki), Edward A. Rose (Sheila Wronski), Daniel A. (Tracy) Rose, William B. (Joy) Rose, and Dorathy M. (Gary) Partin.

She was a loving grandmother to Hanna L. M. Rose, Kelsee P. M. Rose, Andrew J. H. Rose, Dustin J. J. Rose, Angelique M. Cilia, Joseph Mary Cilia III, Selena Marie Cilia, Victoria Anne Cilia, William Russell Rose, Ella Marie Rose, Emma G. Rose, Thomas B. Rose, Daniel D. Rose, and Elizabeth K. Stauder.

She was also a cherished great-grandmother to Gabriella, Liliana, Andrea, Kayden, Suhaib, Yusuf, Omar, Maryam, Zoey, Makayla and Julianna.

Beverly enjoyed playing euchre, learning history, travelling, eating McDonalds, and being involved in her children’s lives. While they were growing up, Beverly was involved in the Hockey Booster Club, Band Booster Club, Figure Skating Club, Girl Scouts, and Boy Scouts.

She enjoyed vacationing with her family, which typically revolved around the kids’ activities and/or events. Some of the notable destinations included New York City, Washington DC, Florida, Toronto and Ottawa, Canada, as well as a European trip with her daughter Dorathy’s band. Her family always came first.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, June 1st, 2023, from 2:00 PM – 8:30 PM and Friday, June 2nd, 2023, from 1:00 PM – 8:30 PM at the Allen Park Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 3rd, 2023, at Unity Lutheran Church located at 12250 Fort St. in Southgate, MI. An instate period will begin at 11:00 AM, and the service will begin at 12:00 PM. Following the service, we will be driving in procession to Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery to have a short service at the chapel. Whoever wishes to witness the burial at that time will be invited to do so.
