Betty L. Pasola

Betty Lou Pasola, 97, of Trenton, Michigan, passed away on Thursday April 28, 2022. Born April 4, 1925, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Adolph and Lucille Etzkorn. Betty met the love of her life, Ralph, at Camp Chaffee (Fort Smith), Arkansas, where he was a member of the 16th Armored Division Band. If it wasn’t for World War II, neither of them would have met – a southern belle from Arkansas and a Yankee from New Jersey. Betty and Ralph were married in Fort Smith in 1946, and after the War resided in Trenton, New Jersey for a short period of time before moving to Trenton, Michigan in 1952, where her husband was employed by McLouth Steel. Betty was employed by Peoples Bank in Trenton, Michigan for many years as a teller and a secretary. Betty’s life revolved around her family, her husband Ralph of 70 years, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also active for many years with St. Joseph’s Church in Trenton, where she was a member of the parish since 1952. Betty is survived by her children; Ralph (Chris) of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Betsy O’Donnell (Matt) of Grosse Ile, Michigan. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Katherine of Ann Arbor, Michigan, (Lonny), Emily of Northville, Michigan (Tim), William of Chicago, Ill. (Dianne), Shane O’Donnell (Andrea) of Grosse Ile, Michigan, and Patrick O’Donnell (Sarah) of Austin, Texas. Nine great grandchildren include Lauren, Sullivan, Connor, Kellen, and Sophie, Brynn and Avery, and James and Valerie. Betty was sadly preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, her parents, Adolph and Lucille Etzkorn, her brother William Etzkorn and her sister Katherine Gaylord. Cremation has taken place.
