Betty I. Laginess

October 6, 1930 — March 19, 2018

Betty I. Laginess

Born in Trenton, Betty was the daughter of Oscar and Blanche (Bright) Malone. She was a graduate of Airport High School's first graduating class in 1949. Betty married the love of her life, Arthur Laginess, on October 7, 1950. Betty was a faithful member of the South Rockwood United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School, was a Communion Stewart, as was active with People of Faith. She also had been a member of T.O.P.S in Wyandotte and was a Girl Scout Leader in Trenton from 1964 until 1970. A dedicated homemaker, Betty also had worked at Ritter Pottery in South Rockwood and later as a Paraprofessional for Trenton Public Schools, retiring in 1990. Betty leaves to cherish her memory, Arthur, her husband of the past 67 years; and her children: Karen Laginess of Woodhaven and Arthur Laginess Jr. of Woodhaven. Sadly she was preceded in death by a grandson Christopher David Laginess; two brothers: Howard Malone and Fred Malone; as well as a sister Bertha Draft. Memorial contributions in honor of Betty may be made to the South Rockwood United Methodist Church. Click on the multimedia tab to view Betty's video tribute.
