Betty E. Vanwassehnova

Born in River Rouge, Betty was the daughter of Russell and Margaret (Sancrant) LaFeve. She married the love of her life, Harold F. VanWassehnova, on October 8, 1949 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Rockwood. Sadly he preceded her in death January 2, 1992. A dedicated homemaker, Betty enjoyed playing cards, hosting family holiday gatherings, baking pies and attending the 554th Army Reunions with her husband, but her most cherished times were those spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Betty was also a faithful member of St. Mary, Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church in Rockwood. Betty leaves to cherish her memory her children: Terese (Ray) Serpetti of Brownstown, Harold VanWassehnova Jr. of Carleton, Russ (Emily) VanWassehnova of South Rockwood and Mary Jo (Greg) Hounshell of Newport; a son-in-law Mike Dusseau of Flat Rock; thirteen grandchildren and twenty seven great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband; she was preceded in death by a daughter Jan Dusseau and a granddaughter Kristy Dusseau. Memorial contributions in honor of Betty may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church or to the charity of donor's choice.
