Bettie L. Niemiec

Bettie L. Niemiec, age 86 of Riverview, MI passed away September 9, 2022 surrounded by her family. Loving wife of Stephen Niemiec for 59 wonderful years. Beloved mother of Dennis (Debra) Niemiec and the late Jeff Niemiec. Proud nana of Michelle (Kenneth) Alvedy, Brian Niemiec, Eric Cuny, Joe (Amber) Niemiec, Jake Niemiec, Gavin Alvedy, Blake Ortiz, Natalie Ortiz, Kennedy Alvedy, Kenneth Justice Alvedy and Elaina Cuny. Loving sister of Johnny Pippin. She proceeded in death by nine of her siblings. She also leaves behind her many loving nieces and nephews.

Bettie grew up in Putnam County, TN the daughter of Haskell and Vallie Pippin. She moved to Detroit at fifteen years old and graduated from Central High School Detroit and went on to receive her nursing degree from Wayne County. In 1963, Bettie married Stephen Niemiec and over the years they lived in several downriver cities before being relocated to New Jersey. For five years, they owned and ran the Red Rooster Bar prior to moving to New Jersey. Bettie served as a nurse for many years until happily retiring with Stephen in 1990 where they then moved to Riverview and have lived there happily since.

Over the years they were devout parishioners at St. Cyprian and St. Joseph Catholic Church. She went home to be with the lord on September 9, 2022 surrounded by her family.
