Born in Monroe, Bess was the daughter of Salvatore and Vencinzina (Casciola) Mignano. Bess worked her whole life at the family business, Mignano's Food and Beer Center on Monroe's East Side. She had been a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Bess enjoyed knitting, crocheting and gardening, but her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her many nieces and nephews, whom were like children to her. Bess leaves to cherish her memory a sister: Madeline (Eugene) Jenkins of LaSalle; a sister-in-law Leona Mignano; nieces and nephews; Jenise (Kurt) Steinman, Julie Christensen, Johnnie Jenkins, Cathi Cook, Sam Mignano III, Scott (Sherry Hunt) Mignano, Melissa (Phil) Smith and Mike (Daphne McLeod) Mignano; as well as several great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews. Sadly she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Anthony Mignano and Samuel J. Mignano Jr.; a niece Michelle K. Mignano and a great nephew Dane Christensen. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in honor of Bess are asked to consider, ProMedica Hospice or Meals On Wheels.
