Bernice M. Wright

Bernice M. Wright, of Hillman, Michigan, formerly of Redford, Michigan, passed away on February 4, 2021. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Katherine Gazarek, her daughter, Kathy, her brother, Norbert, and her sisters, Martha and Sr. Helen. Bernice is survived by her sister, Elsie Sedlock, many loving nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and dear friends. Bernice loved animals, especially her 6 dogs and 2 cats. She was very active in the Catholic Church all of her life and was proud to have her Diploma in the Sodality of Our Blessed Lady; Diploma of Perpetual Membership in the Pontifical Association of the Holy Childhood; and was excited to be chosen the one to crown the Blessed Mother in May 1948 at St. John Nepomucene in Detroit. She also enjoyed gambling and taking the weekend trips up north with the church. She was an avid visitor at Archies Restaurant in Livonia, where she went 6 days a week with her sister, Sr. Helen Gazarek. She lived a happy, quiet and fulfilling life. Memorial contributions can be made to Michigan Humane Society in memory of Bernice. A celebration of life will take place in the spring.
