Bernard L. Belisle

Bernard L. Belisle age 85, of S. Rockwood, passed away December 31, 2018. Born May 3, 1933 in Detroit, Bernard was the son of Alfred and Phyllis (Johnson) Belisle. He was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War and also served in Okinawa. Bernard set up the Respiratory Therapy Department at Outer Drive Hospital in Lincoln Park. He graduated from the Ann Arbor Practical Nursing School and worked at the Wayne County Psychiatric hospital before it closed and he transferred to the State of Michigan Department of Mental Health, where he retired from. Bernard loved to read, enjoyed his music and loved to spend time with his dog Daisy. He is survived by his loving wife Joan (VanWasshnova) of 49 years, his sister Sandy (James) Tyler, his faithful and loving niece Ramona (Michael) Bacha and dozens of nieces, nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews and also by brothers and sister's in laws. Bernard is preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Phyllis Belisle and siblings Betty Banyai, Basil Belisle, Beverly Kuhn, Barbara Carter, Bruce Belisle, Burton Belisle, Linda Booterbaugh and David Belisle.
