Beata J. Wahl-Galbraith

Beata J. Wahl-Galbraith, age 84, of Monroe, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 1:36 am at Michigan Medicine, Ann Arbor . Born April 28, 1934 in Monroe, MI to Curtis and Minnie (Clark) DuRocher. A homemaker, Beata enjoyed playing bridge and was very active with the Garden Club, Thrift Shop and hospital gift shop. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Monroe where she served as a Cantor and Eucharistic minister and also volunteered with the Soup luncheons. Beata leaves to cherish her memory her 3 children; Greg (Fay) Wahl of Cadillac, MI, Scott (Karen) Wahl of Newport, MI, and Amy (Bill) Long of Saline, MI; 5 grandchildren McKenzy (Zach) Turley, Heather (Chris) Rosenthal, Tristan Long, Micaela Long and Sylvia Wahl; 2 great grandchildren Keegan and Kaylen Turley; and siblings Leona Bonifacio, Helen Patterson, Virginia Navarre, Octavia Cappuccilli, Barbara (Bud) Golubic, Velma DuRocher, Kathryn (Richard) Friedman, Susan (Roger) Playwin and Jim (Cindy) DuRocher. Beata was preceded in death by her parents Curtis and Minnie DuRocher, husbands Robert Wahl and George Galbraith and brothers Don and Joe DuRocher. Friends may call Tuesday 5-9 pm at The Allore Chapel-Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 203 E. Elm Ave., where the rosary will be recited at 7 pm. Beata will lie In state Wednesday from 10 am until a Mass of the Resurrection at 11 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, Monroe. Fr. David Burgard will officiate. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroe.
