Barbara Jo Theaker

Barbara Jo Theaker, age 74 of Brownstown, passed away August 16, 2022. Born in Wyandotte, Barbara was the daughter the late Robert and Betty Lesner. Barbara graduated from Riverview High School class of 1966 and went on to earn her Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from the Detroit Institute of Technology. Barbara spent the majority of her career working for the DMC as an inpatient medical technologist. Barbara loved spending time at the Metroparks, enjoying nature and birdwatching. She also enjoyed container gardening and her green thumb and abundant flowers delighted her neighbors. Barbara was active in President Obama’s campaign and even introduced Joe Biden at a downriver rally. Barbara was the loving sister of Linda Franklin-Blatnik (Louis), Roberta Hoag (Lawrence), Sandra Loosvelt (Richard), Robert Lesner (Linda) and Kathleen Centi (Tony). Dearest aunt to Kevin Franklin, Heather Culverhouse (Al), Justin Hoag (Landah), Nathan Loosvelt (Kacey), Katie Collignon (Brad), Christopher Centi (Andrea) and Michael Centi (Laurel). Dearest great aunt to Timothy, Brody, Brynn, Hudson, Ashlyn, Alexis, Xavier and Zachary. She will be forever missed. A special thanks to Mary Rose Home and Residential Hospice for their loving care of Barbara. Memorial contributions in honor of Barbara may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
