Astrida Marija Milligan

Astrida Marija Milligan of Trenton, Michigan passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at the age of 82. After meeting her husband, Dr. James S. Milligan, on the campus of Ohio State University, she was happily married for 45 years before his passing in 2009. While working as a dedicated nurse, she was a beloved mother of John Milligan and Julie (John) Osika, and a passionate “Omam” to Emily Osika, Samantha Milligan, Drew Osika, and Matthew Milligan. Astrida shared a life-long enthusiasm for Ohio State University with her sister Vita (David) Carmen. Always seeking the freshest fish on the restaurant menu, a crisp glass of pinot grigio, and embracing life’s simplest pleasures of morning beach walks and (strictly) black coffee, Astrida approached life with inspiring confidence. Astrida’s devotion to her family and grandchildren was unparalleled, as was sharing her generational recipes from Lativa of Piparkukas and pierdogs. Astrida was preceded in death by her parents Janis and Vita Draulis and her brother Karlis (Kristine) Draulis.

Astrida was a fierce woman who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Astrida’s cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Ridge Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes located at 2272 W. Jefferson Ave., Trenton, MI 48183.
