Arthur Louis Laginess

Arthur Louis Laginess, age 87, of Trenton, passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2018, at Beaumont Hospital in Trenton. He was Born on November 19, 1930, in River Rouge, MI and was the was the son of Edward. and Frances (nee: Martinek) Laginess. Arthur married the love of his life, Betty I., on October 7, 1950 at the South Rockwood United Methodist Church; sadly, she preceded him in death on March 19, 2018. A dedicated husband and family man, Arthur proudly served his Country in the United States Army; he worked from 1948-1952 for F.W. Ritter and Sons and went on to work for Monsanto which is where he retired from on June 1, 1986. Arthur served the South Rockwood United Methodist Church in many capacities. He was a Sunday School Teacher from 1962-1966 and an usher from 1980 to the present; he was an active member of the Boy Scouts of America Troop 802 and also enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodworking. Arthur leaves to cherish his memory his children Karen Laginess of Woodhaven and Arthur Laginess, Jr. of Woodhaven as well as his brother Jack Laginess of Newport and numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Frances (nee: Martinek) Laginess, his grandson Christopher David Laginess and his 14 brothers and sisters. Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 from 2-9 pm at The Ford Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 23620 N. Huron River Dr., Rockwood, MI. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at 11 am at the funeral home. Rev. Stephen Perrine of South Rockwood United Methodist Church will officiate. Entombment including a Downriver Veterans Honor Guard Service will be at Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions to honor Arthur's life may be made to Beaumont Hospice or to the South Rockwood United Methodist Church, 6311 S.
