Archie W. Thompson, Jr.

Born in Toledo, Archie was the son of Archie and Mary (Dushane) Thompson. After high school, he faithfully served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He married the love of his life, Charlene Biggins in 1959 here in Monroe. Archie worked over 27 years for General Motors in Toledo, until his retirement in 1995. He had been a member St. Anne's Catholic Church and St. Joseph Catholic Church. In his spare time Archie enjoyed tinkering, but his most treasured times were those spent with his family. Archie leaves to cherish his memory, Charlene, his wife of the past 59 years; his children: Dale (Teresa) Thompson of Monroe, Blaine Thompson of Monroe, Lynn (Tony) Colton of Mecosta and Tammy Thompson of Monroe; four grandchildren: Sarah Thompson, Brittany (Chris) Mitchell, Victoria Thompson and Autumn Thompson; seven great grandchildren: Alexea Mitchell, Jaiden Mitchell, Karter Mitchell Wyatt Mitchell, Reece Mitchell, Avery Thompson and Kaylynn Perry; as well as a sister Cheryl Thompson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother John and two sisters: Irene and Mary.
