Anthony (Tony) Schuster, 84, of South Rockwood, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017 at his home, in the care of his loving family. He was born June 5, 1932 in Wyandotte, MI to Anthony and Mary (Scheu) Schuster. He graduated from Slocum Truax High School in Trenton in 1950 and went to work for Wyandotte Chemicals. On July 14, 1962 he married Carol Goin in Highland Park, MI, and they celebrated their 54thanniversary in July. They built a home in South Rockwood where they have resided for 50 years. He loved gardening and cultivated many gardens on his property. When Wyandotte Chemicals was bought out by BASF Tony's job was eliminated and he attended William Tyndale College,graduating with a degree in Religious Education, then serving as one of the pastors at the Woodhaven Bible Church for eleven years, retiring in 1994. He will be remembered as a man whose greatest love in life was teaching the Word of God. He taught Home Bible Studies and Marriage Enrichment classes for fifty years in various Downriver locations, and as a charter member and elder of his church was active in many capacities. He was a friend to all and respected and loved by all who knew him. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Carol, children Cynthia (Scott) Waite, Ronald (Kim) Schuster, Jonathan (Rebecca) Schuster, and Suzanne (Ken) Adams; eleven grandchildren, Samantha Waite, Lexi (Raul) Padron, Arin Heinz, Natalie (Jonathan) Schurman, Nathan Schuster, Caleb Schuster, Andrew Schuster, Evan Schuster, Elizabeth (Henry) Chapman, Jennifer Adams and Andy Adams; His brother Ronald E. Schuster and sisters Sally Britton and Judy Godfrey and a very special cousin, Max (Lois) Schuster. Friends are invited to call at the Ford Chapel, 23620 Huron River Drive, Rockwood MI on Thursday, January 19 from 6-9 pm, or Friday from 9:30-12. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery at 1 PM On Friday. A service to celebrate his life will take place on Saturday, January 21 at the Woodhaven Bible Church, 18650 West Road, Woodhaven Michigan at 11:00 A.M. officiated by Pastor Greg Hands. Memorial contributions in honor of Tony may be made to the family for an education fund for his grandchildren.
