Click on the tribute wall above to view John Anthony's video tribute. John Anthony Garcia (Anthony) of Huron Township, formerly from Detroit, passed away on June 3, 2021. His death was sudden and unexpected. He is survived by his father, Richard Garcia; sisters Lisa Garcia, Lorrie Hodnicki (Mark Hodnicki), Andrea Garcia (Joesiah Jones); and brother David Garcia (Rebekah Garcia). He is survived by his former spouse, Diane Garcia, their son Robert Garcia (Dora De Leon) and grandson, Eric Garcia; Diane's older children, Richard Gonzalez III, his son, Richard Gonzalez IV; Miranda Moreno, her son Julian Gutierrez and daughters Beya Garcia and Jazzlynn Espinosa (her children Olivia and Andre Moreno). Anthony is survived by his significant other, Wendy Augutinus and their son, Blade Garcia; Wendy's older daughter, Ariel Brafman (Felicia Pierce), Ariel's daughter, Talena Pierce ; Wendy's sons Gavin Ascroft, Aidan Holcomb, Cyrus Holcomb; her step children Salina and Steven Holcomb. Anthony is also survived by his nieces and nephews; Mario Garcia, Ruth and Emily Abernathy, Angela Heilig, Richard and Jeffrey Hodnicki, Kastein Noggle (James Noggle and children Maverick and Sophia Noggle), Samantha Pennethy, Cory Druihet, and Dominic Garcia. Anthony is preceded in death by his mother, Katherine Garcia; his Maternal and paternal grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins: and his grandson, Jeremy Gutierrez. Anthony was a genuine, caring and uplifting man who dedicated himself to the youth of Detroit, for over two decades, as a coach with the Detroit Hockey Association at Jack Adam's Arena. He was also involved in other community activities. Anthony strongly valued his family. He gave of himself and inspired those whose lives he touched. He had a way of making others feel important and special. He had beautiful blue eyes and a bright smile that was warm and inviting. He enjoyed making other people smile. He had the gift of making others feel loved. Anthony was loved immensely by a large extended family and countless friends... who will miss him for a lifetime.
