Amy Ruth Parsons

Amy Ruth Parsons, 90, of Trenton, MI passed away on May 29, 2007 at 11:00pm in Mecosta, MI, after a brief battle with cancer. She was born on August 5, 1916 in Malta Township of Morgan County, Ohio to Robert Clyde McElfresh and Mossel Drake McElfresh. Amy graduated from Pennsville High School in Pennsville, Ohio. She married Leonard Parsons in 1939, who preceded her in death in 2004. Although, she lived most of her adult life in Trenton, MI, where she raised six children, Amy never forgot the importance of self reliance that she learned growing up in rural southern Ohio. Her passion in life was faith and family. In both, she exhibited great devotion, humor and love. She was active in her church and actively supported Boys and Girls Bible Club of Michigan. Amy enjoyed spending time with family and friends and sharing how she came to faith. She is survived by six children: Mary Jane Klocko of Canadian Lakes, MI, Leonard Parsons of Canadian Lakes, MI, Brent Parsons of Canadian Lakes, MI, Wayne Parsons of New Boston, MI, Rebecca Sevey of Elgin, IL, and Sue Montgomery of Canadian Lakes, MI. In addition she leaves 14 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters: Eva Jane Taylor, Mina Faye Gladden, Robert McElfresh, Louis McElfresh and Thomas Wayne McElfresh. Funeral services were held at the First Presbyterian Church in Trenton, MI and a graveside service at Malta Cemetery, Malta, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, gifts and memorials may be made to the Boys and Girls Bible Club of Michigan.
