Alan E. Parlette

Parlette, Alan E. Age 77 of Gibraltar died on December 17, 2015 at Rivergate Terrace in Riverview after a lengthy illness. He was born on May 30, 1938 in Lima, OH to Orville and Myrtle (nee: Waggoner) and grew up in Monroe graduating from Monroe High School in 1957. He is survived by his beloved wife Carol who he married on July 1, 1972 at the First United Methodist Church of Flat Rock; together they celebrated 43 years of marriage. Loving dad of Leann (Rich) Hedke of Gibraltar and David (Jennifer) Parlette of Gibraltar. Dearest grandpa "Beepa" to Jillian, Dennis, Claire and Joseph. Also survived by one sister Cheryl Werling of Riverview and one brother Fr. Thomas Parlette of Iowa. Preceded in death by his parents Orville Parlette and Myrtle LeRoy as well as three brothers Charles Parlette, Vernon Parlette and Fred Ruble. Alan was very proud of his work serving families at the Allore and Ford Chapel Funeral Homes where he was a dedicated employee; he was a long-time, active and faithful member of the First Congregation Church of Gibraltar, UCC. He loved to sing and had a beautiful bass voice; throughout his life he belonged to several choral groups and choirs and also loved to cross stitch and travel. Visitation is Sunday 2 - 8 pm at The Ford Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 23620 North Huron River Drive, Rockwood. Alan will lie in state Monday 11 am at First Congregational Church of Gibraltar, UCC until time is service which will begin at 12 noon.
