Agatha Parascandalo, cherished mother, grandmother and friend. She was born on September 12, 1940, in Malta to her parents, Amadeo and Giuseppina (nee: Axiak) D'Agostino. Agatha passed away peacefully on Friday, July 7, 2023, at the age of 82, in prayer surrounded by her beloved family.
Predeceased by her beloved husband Eligio of 60 years. Devoted mother to Anna (Vince) Portelli and Flavia (Johnny) Young. She brought immense joy to her grandchildren, affectionately known as “nanna” to Mark (Tami) Portelli, Daniel (Bryn) Portelli, Rachael (Thomas) Smith, Natalie (Dennis) Jakub, Elizabeth (Alex) Avramoski, and Rebecca (David) Zybach. Agatha also cherished her role as great grandmother “buz nanna'' to Deklan, Wynn, and Calum. In addition to her family, she was known as nanna to all who she came to know her.
In addition to her immediate family, Agatha held a special place in the hearts of her siblings. Predeceased by her siblings Edgar, Edwig, Mary, and Jovanna, leaving behind cherished memories of their shared experiences. Her surviving brother Alfred (Emily) D'Agostino held a deep bond with Agatha, and their sibling connection was a source of strength and support throughout their lives.
Agatha's warmth and love extended beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of her many nieces and nephews in the U.S., Australia, and Malta. Her nurturing spirit and genuine care made a lasting impact on each of them, leaving them with cherished memories and a profound appreciation for the aunt they held dear.
The love and affection Agatha shared with her family will forever be treasured, a testament to the deep connections she fostered throughout her life. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to experience her unwavering love and support.
Agatha's departure has left a void in the lives of those who knew her, but her memory will live forever. She will be remembered not only for her love of gardening, which she nurtured with dedication and skill, but also for her passion in cooking meals for her family, creating countless memories around the dinner table. Agatha's honesty and kindness knew no bounds, as she selflessly extended a helping hand to anyone in need, leaving a lasting impression on all who crossed her path. Her unwavering love and care have left an indelible mark on her family and friends who will forever be grateful for the privilege of knowing her.
