Richard "Leo" Mcnabb

Rose City, Michigan Richard Leo McNabb, Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great, great grandfather left his earthly life on March 4, 2021. ‘Leo’ was born on August 04, 1926. Married 72 years to his one and only love, Noreen (Renee) McNabb. Together they raised eight children. He is survived by his wife, Renee, Jennifer Setser (Jeff), Frank McNabb (Janet), Pat Holsbeke (Rich), Margaret Burbo (Chip Waldron), Leo McNabb (Dawn), Arthur McNabb, (Karen), Emily Van Washenova (Russell), Rebecca Murray and his sister, Patricia Skinner. Leo was a true renaissance man. He was a naturalist from a very young age and always said, “ I just want a shack in the marsh.” He was most at home in the great outdoors. He always had funny stories to tell about him and his sidekick, Maynard’s, antics. His interests were vast and included collecting Native American artifacts and amassed a museum- worthy collection. He loved birdwatching, wildflowers, mushroom hunting, and a puddingstone/agate rockhound. A gifted carpenter, Leo built two homes with his sons, carved many beautiful duck decoys. He was a natural comic with a quick wit that kept us all laughing. He loved a good song, dance, beer and especially, his pipe. All 78 grandchildren adored ‘old grandpa.’ Leo is preceded in death by his parents, siblings and many friends
