Michael J. Mcmahon

Michael J. McMahon. Age 70 of Allen Park, passed away August 8, 2021. Beloved husband of Josephine McMahon. Loving father of Alan and Steven McMahon. Brother to Ann Babington and Thomas McMahon. Preceded in death by parents Richard and Margaret McMahon. Michael was born in Carrickmacross, Ireland where he spent his childhood. Growing up on a farm in Ireland, Michael was taught from a young age the importance of hard work. He later immigrated to the United States in 1971 to pursue the American Dream. Michael and Josephine were wed in 1980 and had two children Alan and Steven. Working in tunnel construction Michael worked in various locations throughout the United States, taking him across the country to eight different states including Alaska and Hawaii. Michael was loved by all that knew him. He was charismatic and always a positive influence in everyone’s lives. He was never short of stories to tell and was an avid Football and NASCAR fan. He also loved animals especially his dogs Bailey and Shadow. Anyone who knew Michael knew that Michael could fix anything. In his retirement, Michael was known to fix lawnmowers for individuals in and around the Allen Park area. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 13th 2021 at the Allen Park Chapel- Martenson Family of Funeral Homes located at 10915 Allen Road, Allen Park MI 48101. Visitation hours will be between 1pm and 9pm, with a mass taking place at 6pm at Martenson Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Cancer Society.
