LaVerne Joanne Roe, age 92 of Taylor, passed away on January 2, 2024.

Grew up in Toledo, OH and graduated from DeVilbiss High School in 1949. She was quite a horse woman, winning many ribbons at local events, while in her teens. She got married to Allan Roe in 1956 and moved to Michigan in 1957 with Allan and her son, Randy. She remained as a life-long resident in Taylor, MI. She was an avid bowler for many years in couples leagues at South Lanes and Ford Lanes. She later joined Senior Ladies League, which took place at Roosevelt Lanes in Allen Park, MI. She loved gardening, watching the birds, and squirrels. She liked sewing, baking, decorating for Christmas. She was a great cook in the traditional American way and had mastered the art of having everything done perfectly at the same time. She was an animal lover and adored her miniature poodle, GiGi, who lived to the age of 17! She was married for 35 years to Allan Roe, who sadly passed in 1991.

Visitation will take place on Friday, January 5, 2024 at the Allen Park Chapel of the Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 10915 Allen Rd. Allen Park, MI 48101, from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at the Allen Park Chapel of the Martenson Family of Funeral Homes at 10:30 am. There will be a short visitation prior to the service from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. Interment will take place at Toledo Memorial Park in Sylvania, OH.
