Keith L. Sweet

Born in Monroe, Keith was the son of Carl and Beulah (Bodine) Sweet. A 1966 graduate of Monroe High School, Keith then proudly served in the United States Air Force as an Airplane Mechanic from October 1966 until his discharge August of 1970. Keith then worked for the United States Post Office from 1971 until 1974. He married the love of his life, Diane Gasper, on February 3, 1978 and from this union came two sons. Since 1981 Keith has owned and operated the Next Door Lounge in Maybee. Keith enjoyed going on Casino Trips with his wife and his buddy WOP. He took great enjoyment in talking and kidding with his customers at the bar. Keith was known for having quite a sense of humor. Keith leaves to cherish his memory, Diane, his loving wife of the past 37 years; sisters: Janet (Doug) Crego of Maybee, Karen (Greg) Murphy of Carleton, LeeAnn (Marcus) Wells of Monroe and Marilyn (Richard) Angerer of Carleton; a brother Jeffrey (Jennifer) Sweet of Newport; as well as several nieces and nephews. Sadly he was preceded in death by his sons: Keith L. Sweet and Jason J. Sweet; a brother Gary Sweet; his parents and a nephew Mark Sweet. In accordance with Keith's wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of the Liedel Chapel-Martenson Family of Funeral Homes. A memorial service and inurnment will be 1:00pm Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Northside Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by VFW Post 1138. A celebration of Keith's life will then continue at the Next Door Lounge.
