Jack R. Polly

Jack R. Polly, age 84, of Southgate, Michigan passed away surrounded by family on Sunday, February 4th, 2024. The oldest

of five siblings, he was born in 1939 in his beloved hometown of Kona, Kentucky, before spending his adult life in Detroit. He is

preceded in death by his daughter Sheryl and sister Alice. He is survived by his beloved wife Priscilla and siblings Julian, Anita,

and Anedra. He will be remembered dearly by children Jackie and David, honorary son Alfonso, grandchildren Ericka, Kyle, Rene, Mikayla, and Jacey, great-grandchildren Gregoria, Aidan, and Jack, and more beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins than a holler could ever hold. Jack was an incredible mentor to many, a proud man of God, and the best card player you’d ever have the misfortune to come across. He was the best friend of every family dog that he swore he never wanted, the favorite neighbor of

everyone on the block, and the proudest Kentucky boy the world had ever seen. His family takes comfort in knowing that he will

finally make it back to the Big Muddy.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 7th from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Martenson Funeral Home, 10915 Allen Rd,

Allen Park, MI 48101. A funeral will be held at Millstone Missionary Baptist Church in Kentucky on Saturday, February 10th.
