Huse, Edwin R. II (Ed) Age 92 of Ypsilanti, Michigan passed away peacefully on October 12, 2013. Ed was born on May 19, 1921 to James and Lusanna Butler Huse in Detroit Michigan. He graduated from McKenzie High School in 1939. His year book inscription was "Your wit wears well" and he used his wit, humor, and grace to carry him through the ups and downs of a long and productive life. He enlisted in the Navy in 1942 to become a carrier-based fighter pilot in the Pacific during World War II and he retained a life-long love of flying. On returning to Detroit after the war, he studied Business Administration and Journalism at Wayne State University. He then began his career in radio broadcasting first in sales at stations in Detroit (WKMH & WXYZ) and then radio management for WKHM radio in Jackson, Michigan. He served as President of the Michigan Association of Broadcasters (MAB) from 1978 to 1979. He was owner/manager of WHUZ in Huntington, Indiana from 1979 to 1984, then was Regional Manager for the National Association of Broadcasters in Washington, DC. He retired from radio in 1996 after almost 50 years in broadcasting. He was named a Broadcast Pioneer by the MAB and was an honorary member of the MAB Foundation Board of Directors. Ed loved his family and was always ready to entertain us with his stories and jokes. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen Field Huse; sister, Betty Huse Mende; son, Edwin (III); and daughter, Nancy Huse (Shrinidhi) Iyengar. He is survived by daughters, Barbara Huse (John) Goergen and Mary Field (James) Mende, and son, Thomas (Imam) Field, 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. We will miss your wisdom, warmth, and wit.
