Diane M. Michaud

Diane Marie Michaud (Padot), age 69 of Monroe, MI, entered her Heavenly home on December 27, 2022, surrounded by her family and friends. She was a loving wife to Timothy Michaud for 47 years.

Diane was born in Mercy Hospital on June 20, 1953, to the late Robert and Audrey (Roberts) Padot and was a lifelong resident of Monroe. She attended St. Michael’s grade school, graduating from Monroe High School in 1971.

On May 23, 1975, she married the love of her life, Timothy L. Michaud at St. Michaels Catholic Church and enjoyed 47 years of marriage with him and was gifted with two daughters and four grandchildren during their time together.

Throughout her life she was employed by Detroit Stoker, Modern Packaging and Monroe County MSU Extension office, retiring in 2015.

Diane was a huge pet lover. She loved plants and gardening and enjoyed volunteering her time as a Master Gardener. She enjoyed bowling in her younger years. Lately it was “don’t mess with my Bingo night”. Diane also was a Girl Scout and 4-H leader when her daughters were young. She was a Life member of the Women of the Moose 714 and held the title of past Senior Regent. She was a member of Frenchtown Center for Active Adults and St. Annes Ladies Auxiliary. Her favorite past times were spending time with her grandchildren, family, and friends, reading and knitting.

Diane was a fighter. She was a 24-year breast cancer survivor but was sadly not able to overcome her battle with COPD. Diane had been ill for about a year, and seriously ill for the last month.

She will be sadly missed. Diane was a beloved mother to her daughters, Stacey Ostrowski and Ashley (Joe) Lampkowski and devoted grandmother to Hailey and Ava Ostrowski, and Isaiah and Liam Lampkowski. She was a loving sister to Linda (Dave) Gubbini, Paul (Sue) Padot, and Jim Padot. Sadly, she was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Audrey Padot. She was also loved and will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will take place Thursday, January 5, 2022, at the Martenson Family of Funeral Homes-Allore Chapel, 203 E Elm Ave, Monroe, MI 48162 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm. A prayer service will take place at 6:30 pm on the evening of visitation. Funeral mass will take place the following day, Friday January 6, 2022, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 2420 N Dixie Highway, Monroe, MI 48162 with her lying in state at 10:30 am with Mass beginning at 11:00am.
