Michael Lee Mignano, 50, of Monroe, passed away unexpectedly due to complications from Leukemia on August 28, 2021, with loved ones by his side. Mike was born on July 24, 1971, just minutes after his twin sister Michelle, in Monroe, Michigan to Sam and Leona Mignano. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1989. After high school, he earned an Associates of Fine Arts degree from Monroe County Community College. Mike worked for many years at the family store, Mignano’s, and then continued his employment for the past 16 years at Bay Corrugated Container as a graphic designer. Mike was the life of the party and welcomed everyone with a smile. Those close to him looked forward to his Vanilla Ice dance moves. He loved to do things for his family, friends, and his community. He created and designed many art projects just for fun and to help others. Mike was an amazing friend, son, brother, and uncle. Sadly, he was proceeded in death by his twin sister, Michelle and his father Sam J. Mignano, Jr. Mike is survived by his mom, Leona Mignano; four siblings Cathi Cook, Sam (Sheila) Mignano III, Scott (Sherry) Mignano, and Melissa (Phil) Smith; seven nieces and nephews Anthony, Jesse, Josh, Sydney, Kyla, Nicole, and Torey; and his long-time childhood friend Brian Braden. The family would like to thank all the staff at Promedica Flower Hospital – ICU for the amazing care they provided for Mike and his family. A celebration of Michael’s life has been planned under the care of the Allore Chapel-Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 203 E. Elm Ave., Monroe. Friends may call Wednesday from 11am until funeral services at 6pm. Dr. Tony Lynn, Church Planting Leader with the North American Mission Board in Plymouth, will officiate. Entombment will take place at a later date with his twin sister at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider a memorial to The Opportunity Center at ALCC (formally the Arthur Lesow Community Center) or a charity of your choice.
